The Lord Mayor’s Seniors Cabaret is an initiative of Brisbane City Council and is produced by Epiphany Productions (Aust).
Hone your performance skills working one-on-one alongside some of Australia’s star performers and vocal coaches.

We would love for you to join in, have some fun and the best part of it is, it's all free and you don't need to audition!

Register your details below and get involved in one of our 3-hour masterclasses held throughout July/August.
Participants will then have the opportunity to perform in a showcase performance throughout August/September and then possibly be chosen to perform at Brisbane City Hall in the Lord Mayor’s Seniors Cabaret Gala concert on Sunday 11 October.
Whether you have always dreamt of performing on the stage and you've never taken that final step or maybe you are a seasoned performer looking for some expert advice and tips to enhance your performances, these free masterclasses will have something for everyone.

What's it all about?

The theme for this year's program is 'Celebrating the Hits of the Decades'.

Each participant has to prepare two songs/items to work on during the masterclass. You can choose whatever you'd like to perform and then you'll work one-on-one alongside professional mentors in an extremely friendly and welcoming workshop environment. Participant numbers are usually limited to 10 -12 acts per masterclass.

If you need any help obtaining sheet music or backing tracks so you can practice before your masterclass, we can help you, just let us know.

There will be a piano accompanist available to accompany you but you need to provide the sheet music yourself and be confident the music is in the correct key. Again, we are happy to help you if you are finding difficult obtaining the sheet music or backing tracks.

Where and when?

10 masterclasses will take place over the months of July and August. Please have a look at the schedule below.

During the registration process, you will also be asked to write down ' your three things' that you would like to work on or that you feel would make a difference in your performing.

These may include area's such as:

• Stage fright – how to overcome your nerves when you’re performing in front of others

• Stagecraft – what to do on stage when you don’t know what to do

• Singing with an Instrument – tips on how to perform with your instrument & your voice

• A healthy voice – the do’s and don’ts of maintaining a healthy voice and what to do with a sore voice

Spaces in each masterclass are limited, so get in quick and register. Each participant has the opportunity to choose which masterclass they would like to participate in.

Selected participants will then get to put their masterclass training into practice and perform in a Showcase performance throughout August and September at local shopping centres, community halls, league clubs and theatres throughout Brisbane.

Selected participants from the showcases will then be invited to perform in one of the two final performances of the program.

Cabaret in the Mall

Queen Street Upper stage - Performances at 12pm and 1pm

Sunday 11 October 2020
The Lord Mayor’s Seniors Gala Cabaret concert at Brisbane City Hall at 3pm
This goes without saying!  The big Gala finale!  Three months of masterclasses, showcases and public performances accumulate in this final Gala performance event.

There are no winners on the day, no-one is judged, this is purely a celebration and a showcase of what can be achieved by our senior’s talent in Brisbane!

Performing in the Gala will also be two acts who have been nominated as the 'most improved' acts.
